Moulded Products
QED can offer mouldings by a number of different manufacturing
processes - injection, vacuum, pressure and special casting.
These techniques can be used in isolation or combined
to provide highly technical solutions to difficult problems.
Tooling is produced in house allowing us to convert concepts,
designs and drawings into rapid prototypes for development
trials. Working with a wide variety of materials and
finishes
we can then manufacture in high volumes to a consistent
high standard. All controlled and documented by our
ISO9001 accreditation.

Bags & Sewing
QED are able to supply all types of sewn items from simple
covers to intricate bags.
Soft bags can include foam liners designed to offer additional
protection.
A wide variety of materials in many colours are available
together with a range of fittings.
Presentation Cases
This adaptation of the instrument case offers dedicated
internal fittings to enhance the presentation of your products
in the most advantageous way to your customers.
Designs can include stowage bags for instruments, laptop
computers and sundries. Should you wish to display a number
of electrically powered products in situ, with the minimum
of fuss in front of your customer, we can pre-wire the
case internally with just one mains connection.
As these cases are specifically designed for purpose, the
choice of material, finish and colour can be that which
best suits your product. Our design team will work with
you to
provide the best solution including prototypes to prove
the design and suitability.
In House Handling - Kitting Systems
The unique SPA kitting (Small Parts Assembly) system is
saving manufacturers many hundreds of hours in small part
assembly.
Instead of the kitting manufacturer supplying kits of small
parts such as washers, screws, 'o' rings or springs in
polythene or paper bags, they are put into QED SPA trays.
The trays have a range of cavities designed specifically
for the individual components. These are then covered
with a special transparent printed cling film, denoting
the part number and assembly sequence number.
When filled and sealed, even with tiny components,
the tray can be held upside down and shaken without
dislodging
the
components.
Any number of individual trays can be housed in an
outer stackable plastic tote box to enhance collation
and component
traceability.
After use the system can then be recycled
through the supply chain, thus giving long term
cost savings. Projects
Our design team and manufacturing abilities enable QED to
undertake complete projects for our customers.
If you have a product that needs that last little problem
solving or an idea that needs developing, contact
us and we may be able to help.
Labels & Screen Printing
We are able to produce labels to meet most requirements.
Our typical label is constructed from 100 Micron
Melinex Clear Polyester Film printed sub-surface and bonded
to a coloured Acrylic substrate, with 3M 467MP Self-Adhesive
backing.
Your company logo can be included as can multiple
colours,
bar codes and serial numbers. This label is able
to resist
most chemicals and climatic conditions.
We can also screen print directly onto cases, all
artwork and screen manufacture is carried out in
house.
